Welcome to White Heather Manor

White Heather Manor is ideally situated in the highly desired Lower Mission District of Kelowna. Scenic walking trails, beautiful beaches, numerous restaurants, and ample shopping are only a 10-minute walk away. Large portions of land in the area remain allocated to agriculture, providing both a rural and an urban vibe to any curious explorers. Easy access to the rest of the community is a 30-second walk from White Heather Manor's door via a main bus route.

White Heather Manor provides supportive 24-hour care to individuals with serious and persistent mental health issues. Our community is vibrant and has a home-like feel, due in part to the many prolific artists who are steadily filling our wall-space with imaginative and eye-catching works.

A sense of community and belonging is critical when seeking stable housing, and preserving this perception remains our highest priority. Our residents report feeling safe and cared for, and for some, this is the first time they have felt this way for a very long time. Teamwork, a non-judgmental and compassionate approach, and the constant awareness that we are guests in our resident’s home is the binding force behind our success.

Let us welcome you home!

Sean Rathwell

Manager of Care
I have been a Registered Psychiatric Nurse for nearly 30 years, starting my career in Saskatchewan prior to relocating to Kelowna in 1992. I have worked in a variety of settings from Vernon to Osoyoos, including all three regional hospitals in the Okanagan, community mental health and various residential psycho-social rehabilitation and long-term care settings.

I assumed the role of Manager of Care of White Heather Manor in May of 2016. I am very passionate about the importance of supporting White Heather Manor’s residents to maximize their potential through active participation in their own care, promoting independence, and encouraging the pursuit of life-enriching goals.

I am an avid gardener, traveller and I enjoy most outdoor activities Kelowna has to offer, as well as spending time with family.
